About Polar Bear Auto Air

Located at Austin, TX 78701, Polar Bear Auto Air operates as an auto repair shop serving Austin in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Austin, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Texas vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. You can reach Polar Bear Auto Air at (512) 569-4127; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Google shows 2.5 out of 5 based on 2 reviews. With so few reviews the score can move quickly; it will become more reliable as more customers leave feedback.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Austin peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Clowns. They will shake you down for every cent they can get, and leave your vehicle in worse shape than you started with. They got me for $3k. Misdiagnosed issues, sloppy repair work. After three visits, my vehicle is still blowing hot air intermittently and the bumper was reinstalled poorly.

Polar Bear never gave up on us, even after encountering a tough, complicated fix and enduring brutal Summer heat. Though the repair took longer than we expected due to parts issues and unexpected problems, Scott kept at it until the job was done. He is a man of his word.
